Allietare part 1

This is the first part of Bonnie Hunters 2015 Mystery Quilt. My colours are very muted... But I wanted to use some fabrics that were given to me a year ago when I changed jobs. When complete it will be for my motorhome, so in this respect I am going for a half size quilt.

Its Mystery Quilt time again

After missing last year's mystery quilt fun (I was moving house), this year I am ready. It took me a while to choose my colours and despite bringing lots of fabric home from Canada last month... it appeared none of these were really the solution. In the end I opted for a selection of Tilda fabrics, which were given to me as a leaving present when I moved to London.

Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt has an Italian theme this year... gold, red, black, grey and neutral...but the colours I have chosen will hopefully be suitable for my camper van. Bonnie's quilt comes out at 80" x 96" which is much bigger than I need and so I will either make half the blocks or the blocks half size. The first clue comes out on Friday and so I will decide then what I shall do.

The Dear Jane Quilt

As you will have seen from this blog... in May 2014 I began my Dear Jane journey. I regularly published the blocks that I did and then when I moved house... it all went a bit quiet. The good news is that I have stuck at it and this weekend finally added the border. Next weekend my sister is going to baste the layers for me (what a treat!) and then I begin the hand quilting. It is while since I have done any hand quilting... but once I get into the rhythm of it I move along quite quickly.
